Race for top four hots up as North West Women’s League action resumes

After a mid-season hiatus to allow for school exams, the North West Women’s Super League swings back into action on Thursday evening.

The battle is on for teams to make the top four places and it appears as if it’s a five-way race for the four slots.

There is a crunch clash as Illies (above), the reigning champions who are joint top with Greencastle, host Bonagee United.

Bonagee, along with Fanad United, are two points off the leaders and could leapfrog Illies with a win.

Illies and Greencastle both have potentially testing games with Greencastle to welcome Brid McGinty’s Lagan to Chapel Lane.

Fanad United, the League newcomers, have been in good form and they will fancy their hopes of overcoming Carndonagh FC at home.

In Thursday’s other game, Moville play host to Clonmany Shamrocks.
