Suspensions to hit Finn Harps as First Division campaign resumes

Finn Harps have some suspensions to contend with as Ollie Horgan’s side resume their promotion bid tomorrow night.

Harps are away to Cabinteely at Stradbrook, but Horgan must plan without the services of Tommy McBride, Ciaran O’Connor and Michael O’Connor.

Ciaran O’Connor will miss Harps’ next two games. The striker will serve an automatic suspension after a red card against UCD in the 3-1 defeat earlier this month and the FAI’s disciplinary committee have given the Dundalk man an additional one-game ban, meaning he also misses next week’s trip to Drogheda United.

Michael O’Connor misses this week’s game at Cabinteely having accumulated eight bookings, while McBride will miss the games at Cabinteely and Drogheda after being slapped with a two-match suspension.

McBride was sent off late in Harps’ home defeat to Longford Town on the June Bank Holiday Monday.

Meanwhile, Harps assistant manager Paul Hegarty will serve a touchline suspension for the game in Cabinteely after being sent off during the UCD game.
