It sounds like a scene from The Simpsons.

But you don’t need to go to Moe’s Tavern to get free beer in Donegal tomorrow.

Free beer is on offer this weekend in exchange for rubbish collected on a Donegal beach the Bog Hopper Brewery which is organising a clean-up of Ballyliffin beach ahead of the start of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open next week.

Crwods of community-spirited locals and visitors (who just happen to like a beer!) to take them up on the challenge.

The craft drinks maker, located in the border village of Muff, took to social media, with the mouth-watering ‘volunteer for beer’ promotion.

“Remember guys, we’re giving away free beer this Sunday! In preparation for the @DDFIrishOpen we’re organising a clean-up of Ballyliffin beach. One bag of rubbish can be exchanged for one beer. All gloves, bags and picker claws provided. We’ll even chill the beer,” the company tweeted.

The challenge begins at 2pm and is open to over-18s only.
