More than just seeds of knowledge planted at this school

Members of the gardening team of Scoil Naomh Fiachre in Illistrin outside Letterkenny had some important visitors this week.

The group continue their work watering the vegetable plot as the school received a visit from Tidy Towns committee.

Mr Ciaren Gallagher and his team listened and took advise from the tidy town team.

They visited the new ongoing developing butterfly garden and our plot of fruit trees and heard the stories from our gardeners on the growing of potatoes and the maintenance of plots of vegetables and fruit growing projects.

The schools look forward to harvesting their vegetables in the Autumn and inviting our visitors to return to a feast showing the journey from planting to eating and enjoying home-grown fruits and vegetables.
