Donegal County Council is holding its annual Best Kept Council Housing Schemes competition and is keen to encourage as many housing schemes as possible to enter.

Cathaoirleach of the Glenties Municipal District Cllr John S. O’ Fearraigh is promoting the competition and hopes to draw a high level of interest from the Glenties Municipal District.

He stated, “The competition is run on a Municipal District basis and a substantial prize fund is available under three different categories.

“They include the best  scheme of 20 houses or less, between 21 and 50 houses and schemes of 51 houses or more. It’s a great opportunity for those involved in the upkeep of their estate to showcase the good work done.

“I would encourage all housing schemes in the area to complete the application form and get it into the Dungloe Public Service Centre before the 27th July 2018.”

The adjudication of entries will take place during  August.

Competition entry forms are available from, and should be returned to the Dungloe Public Services Centre, Gweedore Road, Dungloe.
