Tenants of local authority housing in the Stranorlar Municipal Area will soon be receiving fire blankets for their homes, Cllr Patrick McGowan has confirmed.

From Monday 9th July, staff from the Housing Office of the Stranorlar Municipal District will commence delivering fire blankets to tenants residing in the Stranorlar MD.

A fire blanket is a minimum standard of fire safety measures required in all rented homes in Ireland.

News of the Stranorlar MD scheme has been welcomed by Cathaoirleach McGowan. It is envisaged that the local roll-out will take a number of weeks to complete.
