Sadness as Donegal’s oldest person passes away

The woman understood to be Donegal’s oldest person has passed away.

Bridget Greene from Ardsbeg in Gortahork passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital following a short illness yesterday.

Bridget, who was known better as Biddy, would have been 107 years old in August.

She was predeceased by her husband Barney and son James and is survived by her extended family including daughters, grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

The late Mrs Greene will be laid to rest on Tuesday at 11am at Christ the King Church, Gortahork with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
