The Churchill Community Development Group CLG has received a donation from Churchill Stone of €10,000 for their Community Park project.

Thanks to the generosity of the quarry owners, efforts to fully develop the ambitious plans have taken a leap forward.

Chairman Victor Wilkin said the group are overwhelmed with the generosity of this donation.

“The park is a large project and we still have to raise substantial funds to see it implemented in its entirety.

“Churchill Stone is a valuable employer in the area and has a great track record in supporting local projects.

“This project will put the heart back into our village and the donation will benefit the whole community, we are delighted.”

Work on the Churchill Community Park is due to commence on the 24th July, following the village’s famous fair.

The park will boast a playground, walking track, outdoor gym, car parking, allotments and a community garden.

It has been designed to be inclusive for all ages and will act as a focus for community development and events into the future.
