Listen: Ollie Horgan says Finn Harps must find consistency for promotion push

Ollie Horgan says Finn Harps need to be ‘more consistent’ as he prepares for the home straight in the promotion push.

With eight games remaining, Harps are well poised to mount a challenge, following a superb 1-0 win in Drogheda on Friday night, when John O’Flynn fired home a late winner.

“To try and predict results in this is very difficult to do. Every weekend throws up results that no-one expects,” Horgan said.

“We don’t get too carried away. We have eight games left and there will be a lot of twists and turns now. We need to try and be more consistent.”

Harps face back-to-back home games against Longford Town and Shelbourne in the next two weeks and are in fourth spot, five points behind leaders UCD.

Horgan said: “We’ll fight all the way, whatever may be. So long as we can stay in touch for fourth place to the end, that would be an achievement.

“There are six teams there fighting for four positions and it would take a brave man to pick the four. It’s a bit of a lottery, but we just want to stay in the lottery. “
