Cllr Patrick McGowan Cathaoirleach of the Stranorlar Municipal District has welcomed the announcement of Leader funding for Ballybofey United FC of €156,000 from LCDC and Donegal Local Development Company (DLDC).

The funding is for changing rooms and other facilities.

The total overall cost of the project is €208,000.

Cllr McGowan said “Having spoken to Ballybofey United management some weeks ago about their plans both in the short term and into the future I was pleased as a board Member of DLDC to support this very good application which will go a long way to making the new playing facility at Glencovit Ballybofey as good as any in the County.

“In particular, I want to thank the DLDC LEADER staff and the board of DLDC and LCDC for their work and favourable decision said Cllr Patrick McGowan Cathaoirleach Stranorlar MD.”
