Up to 500 new jobs are set to be created at the Abbott healthcare plant in Donegal Town.
Workers at the plant, which makes medication devices for diabetes, were told by management that there are plans to increase the workforce considerably by 2021.
The news was relayed to workers by management at a general meeting last week.
The US company opened their Donegal operation in 2006 and manufacture blood glucose monitoring strips.
A spokesman for the company confirmed there are plans for expansion in Donegal and worldwide.
