Open invite as Manus Kelly, Donall Barrett to toast historic three-in-a-row

Three-in-a-row Donegal International Rally winners Manus Kelly and Donall Barrett have extended an open invite to a celebration this Saturday night.

Kelly and Barrett secured their third successive Donegal Rally win in June.

Their remarkable treble, in the Melvyn Evans-hired Impreza, came after another gripping three days and 20 stages of Donegal’s most testing and treacherous tarmacadam.

Glenswilly driver Kelly, with Milford co-driver Barrett on the notes, had 42.4 seconds to spare on Sam Moffett.

This year was the fourth year on the trot that Kelly and Barrett corked champagne at the Mount Errigal Hotel, having been National Rally winners, in a Mk2 Escort, in 2015.

Only Cahal Curley and Billy Coleman had achieved a three-in-row, but now the all-Donegal crew join the pantheon of greats.

And they have invited members of the public and supporters to join them in the Mulroy Woods Hotel, Milford, this Saturday night, July 28, from 8pm, for a night of celebration. Music will be provided by Gary McEvoy and refreshments will be served.
