Browne McMonagle and Alcorn honoured with Sports Person of the Week awards

The first two winners of the Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub Sports Person of the Week award, in association with O’Reilly’s Sportswear, were presented with their prizes this week.

Jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle and Termon footballer Jack Alcorn were the winners on the opening two weeks.

Martin O’Reilly presents Jack Alcorn and Dylan Browne McMonagle with their awards.

Browne McMonagle, who weighs just six-and-a-half stone, is on the rise in the pony racing circuit and recently passed the first 100 winners of his young career.

Browne McMonagle returns to action this Sunday at The Big Isle in Manor, where he hopes to build from a four-timer at the weekend.

Alcorn, meanwhile, was the hero of the hour for Termon in the U16 Championship final against Gaoth Dobhair as his pair of nerveless late points secured glory for the Burn Road boys.

Each weekly award winner receives a kitbag, a jersey and a half-zip, supplied by O’Reilly’s.

The award winner will be chosen via a public vote from a shortlist selected by our panel.

O’Reilly’s Sportswear was founded in 2017 by well-known Twin Towns sporting brothers Steven and Martin O’Reilly.

This week’s poll remains open until noon today – you can vote by clicking here: http://www.donegalsporthub.com/poll-time-vote-sports-person-week-association-oreillys/
