Letterkenny University Hospital is Ireland’s most overcrowded hospital today (Monday), with 35 patients recorded awaiting admission this morning.

Figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) show 35 people are awaiting admission at LUH today.

Six of those are on Emergency Department trollies with 29 more patients waiting in wards.

The number is a significant rise from Friday’s recorded figures, when 18 people were waiting on admission at LUH.

The national total for today is 342 people awaiting admission, 233 of which are on Emergency Department trollies.
