Travel Alert: Disruptions as roadworks begin on the N13

Roadworks have begun to cause travel disruptions on the busy N13 Letterkenny to Derry/Inishowen road at Burt.

Motorists are being urged to plan ahead and leave extra time for journeys as one lane is closed to traffic in Burt.

Surfacing works are taking on the N13 between Burt Chapel and the border at Bridgend for the next six weeks. A stop/go system is in operation, along with a special speed limit of 60kph and diversions.

The roadworks will involve replacing the traffic management, surface course replacement, drainage works and road lining.

A diversion is in place for the Derry/ Inishowen bound traffic via the R239 (Slab Road) and the main N13 will still be open to Letterkenny bound traffic from Bridgend.

The works are expected to end on 7th September 2018.
