Danny Ferry says the disappointment will subside for Dunfanaghy Youths after last night’s defeat by Letterkenny Rovers in the Ulster Youth Cup final.
Dunfanaghy saw Rovers take the prize as Ryan O’Donnell and Conor Friel netted in a 2-0 win at Dry Arch Park.
Dunfanaghy, though, had already won the John ‘Gorey’ Curran Youth Cup this year and can take stock on a fine campaign.
“We’re only a small club and we were up against one of the biggest clubs in the north west of the country,” Ferry noted.
“They’re heroes, every single one of them. When you see and hear all the locals here cheering them on – that’s worth more than any trophy.
“We tried everything and we finished the game with two at the back. Someone has to win and lose; it’s just one of those days. The disappointment will wear off.”
