Cowan suspended as Finn Harps look to go six unbeaten

Finn Harps look to extend their unbeaten run to six tonight when Wexford FC visit Finn Park (kick-off 8pm).

Harps have taken 13 points from a possible 15 in their last five outings and Ollie Horgan’s men haven’t conceded a goal in some 469 minutes of football.

Harps, who confirmed the capture of Derry City defender Niall Logue on loan this week, overcame Cobh Ramblers 1-0 last weekend thanks to a Mikey Place penalty.

Keith Cowan’s (above) sending off means he misses out tonight while Wexford are without the suspended Sean Kelly, who was sent off in Wexford’s draw with Drogheda United.

“Wexford got a draw against a top team like Drogheda even though they played most of the second half with just ten men,” Horgan said.

“We struggled to beat them up here earlier in the season 1-0 and it was a draw when we played them at Ferrycarrig Park. “They have signed Dean Walsh on loan from Waterford and he will be a good addition to their squad.

“Over the years we don’t have a great record against Wexford but hopefully that is changing so we can get a result against them on Friday night.”

Harps are without Paddy McCourt, Adam Duffy and John O’Flynn with injury doubts noted on Mark Coyle and Nathan Boyle.

Tonight’s game brings together the two teams with the First Division’s worst disciplinary record. They share 97 yellow cards (56 for Harps) and eight red cards (four each) in League football.

Wexford have injury doubts over John Morgan and Aaron Hobbs.
