Buncrana Tidy Towns Garden Competition is entering its final weeks and is calling on the towns gardeners to get their entry forms in asap!

Competition Coordinator Rachel Gallagher said people don’t have to be expert gardeners to enter.

She said “Buncrana Tidy Towns Garden Competition is one of the highlights of our calendar. You don’t have to be an expert, you just have to show us that you love your garden! We are so grateful to our loyal sponsors at SuperValu Buncrana and would like to extend a special thank you to the Store Manager Kieran Doherty.

“Whether you are just starting out, have a few plant pots or you’re a gardening whizz! Our expert Judge will offer personal advice when visiting every garden, so entrants will pick some great tips! We are delighted professional horticulturist Gareth Austin is joining us again this year.”

All types of gardens can enter. From pots to flower beds, large lawns, veggie gardens or flower beds to beat the band – everything goes.

The competition includes various categories to accommodate every garden type.

Rachel added “We are delighted that businesses in the town have made such a fantastic effort this year with their floral displays and the main street has never looked better. Our Best Kept Business Award is always a coveted prize with categories including, best in bloom, most improved and best shop front there is some tight competition this year.

“To enter just pick up an entry form from our sponsors SuperValu Buncrana or contact us via our Facebook page or email buncranatidytowns@gmail.com. If you’re not in you can’t win!”
