Joe Boyle could find no fault with his Finn Harps Under-19s after their Enda McGuill Cup semi-final loss to St Patrick’s Athletic last night.
Harps went down 3-1 to the impressive Pat’s. An unlucky own goal by Keenan Diver after just give minutes was followed by goals by Mikey O’Keane and Neil Byrne that left the way back too long, even after Liam Walsh netted on 73 minutes.
“We can’t ask anything else of them,” Boyle said.
“We played really, really well. I was delighted that we got a goal back. We just couldn’t push on. They left everything out on the pitch. We got beaten by a quality side.
“It’s a learning curve. That’s the best team we’ve played at Under-19 level.”
