Win for Naomh Columba leaves Naomh Muire on the brink of relegation

Naomh Muire have all but been relegated from Division 2 after goals by Ryan Gillespie and Martin Cunningham gave Naomh Columba a win last night at Pairc na nGael.

The hosts got off to a great start as Gillespie goaled from close range after 2 minutes but Naomh Muire settled into the contest when goalkeeper Declan Ward kicked two long-range frees to put the bare minimum between them.

Gillespie and Daniel Devlin traded points before Martin Cunningham converted a penalty in the left hand corner of the net.

Points by Jack O’Brien and Harry Harden left the half-time score Naomh Columba 2-1 Naomh Muire 0-5

With the wind in there backs for the second half Naomh Columba pilled on the points from Ryan Gillespie (2), Liam Boyle and Phillip Doherty before subs Padraig Byrne, Aaron Doherty and Lanty Molloy got in on the act.
