Raphoe ABC’s Cody Lafferty is through to the semi-finals at the National Girls Senior Cadet Championships.

Last night, the Ballindrait pocket rocket (above, left) swept to a quarter-final win over Castleblaney’s Andrew Leeer.

Back boxing again at 46kgs, Lafferty got the nod from all of the ringside judges.

The 2014 Irish Girl 1 champion made no mistake for an emphatic victory and goes on now to meet Rathkeale’s Breda Quilligan in a semi-final at the Ringside Club next Friday.

St Brigid’s Clonmany man Adam McDaid made his exit from the National Boys Senior Cadet Championships as he fell to defeat against St David’s puncher Darragh Redden at 63kgs.

Today, Daniel Campbell of St Brigid’s was stopped in the second round of a 66kgs contest by Dublin Docklands’ James Whelan.
