Joe Boyle says Burt got their ‘act together’ in the second half of today’s Donegal SHC semi-final against Sean MacCumhaills.

Burt trailed by six points at half-time, but Ronan McDermott and Niall Campbell hit goals in the second half as the 38-times champions booked their place back in the final.

“Just the first half, we were very slow out of the blocks,” Boyle reflected as Burt got over the line against 14-man MacCumhaills, who had Jamie DeWard sent off.

“We knew what MacCumhaills would bring. There were a few choice words and Mickey just asked the players to step up.

“We weren’t working hard enough, but we got our act together. A few of the older heads stood up and we got over the line.”
