Ronan Curtis scored his first two goals for Portsmouth this afternoon as Pompey overcame Blackpool 2-1 at Bloomfield Road.

Curtis, a summer signing from Derry City, scored in the ninth and 59th minutes for Kenny Jackett’s side.

The St Johnston man, a Republic of Ireland U21 international, took the ball from an Oliver Hawkins header and forced home.

The former Kildrum Tigers and Swilly Rovers player headed wide, but he made no mistake in doubling the advantage with a cleaver finish, through the legs of the goalkeeper.

Blackpool pulled one back late on, but Portsmouth held on.

Stephen McLaughlin and Southend drew 1-1 at Plymouth while Conrad Logan and Mansfield drew 2-2 away to Yeovil.
