Today is a historic day for the students of Deele College Raphoe as the release of their Leaving Cert results was filmed by RTÉ News.

The nation will be tuning into today’s RTÉ News bulletins at 1pm and 6pm to see the local students opening their all-important envelopes and reacting to their exam results.

Mr Danny McFadden, Deputy Principal of Deele College, said their 70 Leaving Cert students were pleasantly surprised by their results today.

Mr McFadden said: “We are delighted with the many who received outstanding results and we thank parents, teachers and students for their hard work throughout their time here in Deele College.”

Mr McFadden added that, despite national statistics, the pass rate in Mathematics was very high at Deele College this year.

Overall, the sixth year students were very happy with their marks and confident that they got into their chosen colleges.

The next exciting moment for the Deele students will be seeing their reactions broadcast on national television this afternoon and evening. Don’t forget to tune in to RTÉ One to see the news segment from Donegal.
