Raphoe ABC’s Leah Gallen won through to an Irish Senior Cadet final tonight in Dublin.

Gallen defeated Drimnagh’s Abi Sutton in a 66kgs semi-final at the Ringside Club to advance into tomorrow’s final.

Gallen was in command of the bout from the first bell and took a deserved and impressive win.

Gallen has already won one Irish title this year – when she overcame Keisha Attwell to collect the Girl 5 66kgs crown – and will aim for another tomorrow.

She goes against Sophia Hopkova from Ballyhaunis in the final.

Another Raphoe puncher, Cody Lafferty, was beaten 5-0 by Rathkeale’s Breda Quilligan in a 46kgs semi, while Carndonagh’s Molly Simmons had to withdraw, owing to a throat infection.

Next weekend, Carndonagh man Andrew Cunningham takes to the ring in a 60kgs semi-final as he is slated to meet Steven Cairns of Legacy.
