Avril McNamee won the Female Singles 4-Wall (Small Ball) B title at the 2018 World Handball Championships in Minnesota.

The Sean MacCumhaills clubwoman – pictured with her coach Paddy Murray – defeated Kildare’s Ellen O’Connor in the final at the University of Minnesota.

McNamee was excellent on her way to the title.

McNamee had little trouble in recording a 21-0 21-2 win in the decider.

In her quarter-final, McNamee defeated Minnesota’s Julie Creemers 21-5 21-6 and in the semi-final, she put Linda Connolly from Roscommon to the sword 21-4 21-9.
