Two Donegal Girl Guides have both received ME4U Volunteer Recognition Awards to acknowledge their great work across the county.
Anne Judge, a volunteer leader with Convoy Ladybirds and Lynda Macbeth, Raphoe, Brownie volunteer leader, have both received ME4U Volunteer Recognition Awards.
The Volunteer Centre, who hosted their 8th Annual Awards Ceremony in Letterkenny in July, hold the event to recognise the work done by their volunteers.
Northwest ladybird representative and Commissioner, Judge, has been a volunteer leader for the Convoy Ladybirds for the last 14 years.
Lynda Macbeth volunteers in Raphoe and supports the local ladybird unit when she can.
The Raphoe Brownie leader also trains new volunteer leaders in the role, including child protection training.
If you would like to learn more about volunteering for the Irish Girl Guides, they are currently recruiting new leaders for their Donegal units in Convoy, Raphoe and Newtowncunningham. No previous experience is needed.
Full support and mentoring will be given. By becoming a leader, you will play an important role in your community. It’s a great opportunity to help local girls grow in confidence.
For more information and an application form to become a leader please contact Karina Dingerkus, North West Regional Development Officer on 087 3283587 or email nwrdo@irishgirlguides.ie.
