An attempted theft in Letterkenny has sparked a fresh warning to drivers to lock their doors at all times.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening, when two brazen teenagers attempted to open the doors of a car while it was being parked on a lane near Main Street.
The driver was reversing into a space when the girls approached either side of the car. One girl attempted to open the back door of the car, where a handbag was placed.
Thankfully, this driver’s doors were locked and nothing was taken. The incident has been shared as a warning to other people to always ensure their doors are secured whether the car is moving or parked.
