Naomh Conaill made the most of the wintry conditions to take the points in Towney.

Kilcar 1-7 Naomh Conaill 1-12

Conditions at times were very difficult with heavy showers and wind blowing in from Towney Bay for most of the match.

The hosts playing with the wind first half lead 0-6 to 0-1 after 20 mins with points from Pauric Carr, Michael Hegarty, Stephen McBrearty, Andrew McClean, Mark McHugh and Mark Sweeney.

Dermot Molloy scored for the visitors in the fourth minute and points from Ciaran and Antony Thompson narrowed the gap in the closing stages leaving it 0-6 to 0-3 at half time.

Naomh Conaill hit 1-3 to no reply in the opening 12 mins of the second half with the goal coming from the penalty spot from John O’Malley following a foul on Molloy.

The sides were level a minute later following a flowing move from defence with Mark McHugh driving the ball to the net.

Ciaran Thompson and Mark McHugh exchanged points to keep it level with eight minutes left but it was the Glenties men that used the wind to their advantage with points from Brendan McDyer (3), Leo McLoone and Molloy to take the points in the final league match of the season in Towney.
