Toye on song as Naomh Padraig, Muff overcome Glen in Minor semi

Jonathan Toye hit 2-5 as Naomh Padraig, Muff, booked a place in the Donegal Minor Championship final – and the expense of Naomh Columba and Aaron Doherty, who scored 2-7.

Naomh Columba 2-12  Naomh Padraig Muff 3-11

Doherty’s first goal came from a Fionn Gallagher pass and as he drilled low to the net to make it 1-4 to 0-1 after just 11 minutes. 

Back came Naomh Padraig with goals from Toye and Alan Clarke for a half time score of Naomh Columba 1-6 Naomh Padraig Muff 2-7.

A Doherty penalty got the sides level but a purple patch for Muff, Including a second three-pointer for Toye, put Muff well in the driving seat a brace of points from Fionn Gallagher put two between the teams with five left.

An Evan Craig point stretched the gap to three and they held on despite a Doherty free late in the game.
