Listen: Danny Cullen vows ‘there’s life in Setanta yet’ after final loss

Danny Cullen says Setanta will be back again in 2019 after they lost out to Burt in yesterday’s Donegal SHC final.

Setanta saw Davin Flynn and Bernard Lafferty sent off in the first half, but they rallied for a strong display and made Burt fight for every grain of ash in a 3-14 to 1-14 win.

“There’s life in us yet,” Setanta’s Cullen said.

“It’s always hard with 13 men. We planned to keep possession and use the ball, but the legs gave in at the end. Hunger is a big thing – and Burt showed that in the first half.”

Setanta trailed 2-6 to 0-6 at half-time, but didn’t look like a side playing with two men down.

Cullen said: “If you put the head down, you may forget about it. We had fight in us. We went out and gave it our best, but we fell short.”
