Two men from Donegal spared no effort in an annual rib cooking competition last weekend in Hickory Hills in Illinois, USA.
Neil Connaghan from Gartan and Ian Porter from Buncrana won top places in the hotly-contested Hickory Hills Rib Cook-Off on Saturday last. The Labor Day holiday weekend competition sees competitors battling to serve the most delicious ribs in town.
Neil took the first place prize in 2017 and, with some stiff competition this year, he took third place in 2018.

“Neil scrumptious ribs are cooked with tender love and care and in his self made smoker,” said local resident Kathleen Duffy.
Ian Porter from Buncrana secured second place in the 2018 Cook-Off and first place went to Woody McHugh of Hickory Hills.
