Eir customers in Donegal have been having problems with mobile coverage after the network unexpectedly went down this Wednesday.

Customers on the Eir mobile network in many parts of the country are reporting issues with calls and texts since lunchtime.

The company has confirmed that there are ongoing issues with the service but they do not yet have a time-frame for when the problem will be fixed.

A statement said: “We are aware that some customers are currently experiencing issues with mobile coverage in various locations throughout the country. This is affecting customers when making calls.

“This is currently under investigation and we hope to have a resolution very soon.”

A spokesperson said customers will be notified on Twitter and the Eir website when the network is back to working order.

We're currently experiencing intermittent mobile coverage issues which are affecting some customers making calls. Data services are not affected. For more information, please go to https://t.co/u1IVUwMiyf
