Listen: Barry Monaghan keeps Four Masters spirits up ahead of do-or-die final group game

Barry Monaghan admits that defeat was always likely for Four Masters this afternoon – but the Donegal Town men still have everything to play for.

Despite a defeat to in-form Division 1 side St Michael’s at The Bridge, Four Masters can still get a place in the quarter-finals of the Championship.

But in a group that is so tight, their senior status could be in danger if they lose to Termon at The Burn Road next week.

“It was damaged limitations for us there,” Monaghan said.

“We’re disappointed, but next week is do-or-die for us. It’s all to play for. Ourselves, Termon and Malin are fighting for quarter-finals and a relegation play-offs.

“We’ve been playing in Division 2 this year and we knew it was going to be a big test and a big step up against St Michael’s.”
