The public has been warned to take extra care as the winds from Storm Ali picks up.
THere are reports of a number of trees down as well as electricity lines across Inishowen.
In Letterkenny, a large tree has fallen blocking off Hawthorn Heights. The blockage is expected to be cleared shortly.
Motorists are asked to take extra care and people are being advised not to walk by the coastline.
The winds are expected to calm down by lunchtime.
