Karen Guthrie says juggling between wedding preparation and playing football hasn’t been easy.

Guthrie was Player of the Match as Glenfin defeated Moville in today’s senior ladies final.

In a couple of week’ time, Guthrie gets married to Sean McDaid.

It has been a busy time for Guthrie, who was a key member of the Ulster-winning Donegal squad,.

This weekend, she had her hen party in Carrick-On-Shannon.

“It’s been a hectic weekend,” she beamed after the 4-7 to 3-7 win.

“It hasn’t been easy to plan a wedding and play football and the wedding has come second. This is just the icing on the cake.

“When you play football it’s always in the back of the mind that you want to turn up in good shape and play a part.”

Guthrie top scored in the absence of Yvonne Bonner as Glenfin retained their title.

She said: “It’s huge. For so long, we won one and broke for a while and didn’t do it without any purpose. You have to be able to do it back-to-back and it’s lovely to do that.”
