The initiative has been hailed by the community for their great work especially following last years floods in Inishowen.

Speaking following today’s news Tidy Towns Buncrana thanked their volunteers for their dedication throughout the year.

“We are beyond delighted to have won our fourth gold medal in the national Tidy Towns competition. Buncrana has come through a particularly difficult year after the terrible floods of last year.

“Despite these challenges, our town has rallied together to deliver another great win for Buncrana.”

“We are also delighted to announce that we have won the large town Pollinator Award. We are really grateful to Donegal County Council and our town Gardener George McDermott as well as the local community and businesses for all their support throughout the year.

“This is a great day for our volunteers who dedicate endless hour’s week in and week out for the betterment of the town.”
