Katy Herron heaped praise on Glenfin’s squad for their commitment after they retained the Donegal senior ladies crown yesterday.

Herron was the late match-winner, as a brilliant goal sealed a 4-7 to 3-7 win over Moville.

Glenfin have been without a handful of county aces, including Herron, for much of the club season. Even in the absence of Yvonne Bonner yesterday, however, they came good – something Herron says shows the rising standard.

“The younger girls are really stepping on and it’s brilliant to see the youth coming through,” she said.

“Our girls have been training all year without us. We’ve been dedicated to county and they worked on without us – they showed today how hard they worked.”
