Watch: This Land Rover ad is a true ‘discovery’ of the best of Donegal

County Donegal plays a starring role in a stunning new Land Rover Discovery advert released this week.

The short film follows TV adventurer Monty Halls and his family on their summer adventures in Donegal, using the Land Rover 4×4 to navigate the beautiful landscape.

Breathtaking scenery and action shots of the family enjoying watersports and mountaineering paint a dramatic and exciting image of Donegal.

Monty’s comments add an attractive element to both the car and the location:  “Donegal has a whiff of real wilderness about it and real adventure about it, and if you’re in a place like that you need the right car. You need to be in a vehicle that can access all of those places,” he said.

Monty, Tamsyn, Isla and Molly traverse streams and old bog roads in the Discovery before driving down to the ‘edge of the Earth’ at Port.

The Halls Family Adventures were facilitated by Donegal Tourism with a goal to promote Donegal as an adventure destination with experiences to suit all the family. Land Rover and Brig rib boats are also co-sponsors of the trip.

The ‘Discovering Donegal’ film has been gaining a lot of attraction on Land Rover’s social media, proving to be every bit the advert for Donegal as it is for the car.

On the county, Halls said: “Everyone we’ve met, every place we’ve been, and everything we’ve done has been special. It combines into this extraordinary family experience.”
