Listen: Jason Quigley on getting ‘back to business’ in title defence

Jason Quigley says his NABF middleweight title bout against former world challenger Freddy Hernandez is a chance to get ‘back to business’.

Quigley (14-0, 11KOs) meets Hernandez on October 18 at the Fantasy Springs Resort in Indio, California to defend for the first time the strap he won in March 2017.

Quigley defeated Daniel Rosario in Boston on Easter weekend this year in his return bout from an injury sustained in beating Glen Tapia to collect his first pro belt.

Hernandez (34-9, 22KOs) has a pedigree having challenged for a world title in an 18-year pro career.

“It’s up to me to get in there and let him know who the main man is. It’s back to business for me,” Quigley said.

“I’m very excited and I’m looking forward to this fight. I’ll be in with a very experience lad who has been to levels I haven’t been. He’s a dangerous opponent because he’s coming with nothing to lose. He’s coming in with no pressure or anything on him.

“My last fight was like Christmas coming around. ‘Awww I’m able to fight’. It was big excitement, big and brash, but I’m back on the path and on the journey again. That’s exactly what this is – back to business.”
