An amazing talk about historic treasures unearthed in Co Donegal and other places is to be given at the county museum in Letterkenny.
Donegal County Museum is inviting the public to join Maeve Sikora, Keeper of Irish Antiquities at the National Museum of Ireland to learn more about the ‘Donegal Treasures’ held in the National Museum.
These include Mennybraddan Woman who dates from 1200 AD to the Viking silver hoards uncovered in Inishowen. The talk is on this Saturday 6 October at 2pm.
Maeve Sikora is Keeper of Irish Antiquities at the National Museum of Ireland and is responsible for the Museum’s archaeological collections.
Maeve’s interests are in the early medieval and Viking collections and in the archaeology of death and burial in Ireland.
Admission is free.
