Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher has received confirmation following his representations directly to the Department of Education for funding to carry out Emergency Works at Dooish National School, Ballybofey.

The Donegal TD said he wished to compliment the entire school staff and school management for their excellent work and commitment to the school at Dooish.

He added “I have received written confirmation from the Minister of Education that he has approved the necessary funding for the school; I have been in routine and direct contact with the Department in order to secure this funding for the school.

“I expect the emergency works to commence at the school immediately once the paperwork is completed by the school authorities and the Department. The works should be complete at the school without any undue delay.”

He concluded that it is essential that we as a state continue to invest heavily in our education system in order to afford every possible opportunity to our future generations.
