Listen: Anthony Gorman looks to make quality count for USL in Inter-League Tournament

Anthony Gorman wants the Ulster Senior League representation to make home advantage count in this weekend’s FAI Intermediate Inter-League Tournament.

The USL have won the tournament three times previously and are on home soil this weekend, with games against Munster at Ballyare on Friday, Connacht in Maginn Park on Saturday and Leinster in Bonagee on Sunday.

“The expectation is on the home team to perform,” Gorman said.

“Home advantage should always be taken. It’s a tournament we’re all looking forward to and we can’t wait to get started.”

Gorman has selected a 20-man squad and is pleased with the commitment.

He said: “We don’t have it easy up here in that we only have five clubs and we’re reliant on the senior clubs to make up the League. An awful lot of credit is due to the players involved. It would be easy to stay and play with clubs in the Donegal League or play Gaelic, but there is a real desire to play at as high a level as possible.”
