Watch: AFL contract a ‘dream come true’ for Yvonne Bonner

Yvonne Bonner has told of her delight at getting awarded an AFL contract for 2019.

The Glenfin and Donegal star was chosen form the CrossCoders trial to sign with the Greater Western Sydney Giants for next year.

Bonner will follow in the footsteps of Mayo’s Cora Staunton in lining out for the Giants.

“It’s surreal being here,” Bonner told the club’s website.

“It’s just an amazing surroundings. I’m pumped that I got the opportunity.

“It’s been a whirlwind over the last couple of weeks. It’s like a dream to be sitting here as the next Irish girl to come out here and play.”
