Horgan, Hegarty run the rule on opponents as Shelbourne gain edge on Drogheda

Shelbourne scored a first leg away win at Drogheda United in the First Division play-off last night – and the Reds are now favourites to meet Finn Harps in the play-off semi-final.

James English netted a first-half header last night to give Shels a 1-0 win in Drogheda.

English powered home a header form a Lorcan Fitzgerald corner kick and it was enough to give the Dubliners the win.

Harps will face the winners of the tie over two legs, with the victor of that two-legged tussle going in to face Limerick in a two-legged final.

Ollie Horgan and Paul Hegarty were among the crowd at United Park last night.
