Alan O’Connell says the pain of 2017 drove his St Eunan’s to glory in yesterday evening’s Senior C final.
Oisin Purdy’s two goals gave St Eunan’s a 2-12 to 1-8 win over Glenfin in Ballybofey.
The win came a year after St Eunan’s let a five-point lead slip against Glenswilly and lost last year’s final.
“This is great because of the disappointment of last year,” O’Connell said.
“We lost by a point and we spoke about the hurt. We were five up last year and complacency set in. There was a lot of talk about that.”
