Bernard McGeehan says Sean MacCumhaills have ‘nothing to be ashamed of’ after their Championship sojourn was ended by Gaoth Dobhair.

Gaoth Dobhair were 13-point winners, but MacCumhaills bow out after a season that has seen them promoted back to Division 1 and reaching a first SFC semi-final in 14 years.

“It’s a learning curve for us and we have nothing to be ashamed of,” McGeehan said.

“We’ve achieved everything that we set out to achieve this year. We’re making progress and we’re taking steps in the right direction. All in all, it’s been a great year.

“It’s all positive and I’m very proud of them. I don’t want to see tears or see heads down because it’s been a very good year.”
