Investigation launched into attempted break-ins in border village

Gardaí are investigating a spate of attempted break-ins which occurred in Muff on Sunday night.

An appeal went out in the early hours of this morning asking the public to keep a look out for a suspect male in the Ture area of Muff.

The alert was linked to a number of attempted break-ins and a crash in the area last night.

Gardaí from the Buncrana station were seeking a lone male travelling on foot, described as being in his early 20s, wearing dark clothes and has a beard.

If seen, the public has been warned not to approach the man and alert gardaí in the first instance.

Cross-border crime links are one line of inquiry being pursued.

If members of the public have any information or wish to report a sighting of this male, they are asked to contact the Garda Station in Buncrana on 0749320540.
