Leah Gallen will begin her European Junior Championships on Friday against Germany’s Finja Bree.
Gallen faces Bree in a quarter-final at 66kgs.
It will be the Raphoe ABC woman’s Irish debut when she takes to the ring in the Russian city of Anapa.
Boxing in the quarter-finals, it means the three-time Irish champion will be fighting for a medal in her opening bout.
Gallen won two Irish titles this year and is part of a 26-strong squad that has flown out to Russia.
