A young Drumkeen man who abused Gardai and asked them to arrest him has been fined after appearing at Letterkenny District Court.
Gary Holmes, from St Bridget’s Crescent, refused to leave a takeaway on the Ramelton Road in Letterkenny at 1.35am on June 18th last.
Gardai arrived and tried to direct Holmes to a nearby taxi-rank.
However, he refused and told Gardai “I’m not leaving. F*** you guard. Arrest me.”
The court was told that Holmes in his 20s and has a problem with alcohol.
Judge Paul Kelly fined Holmes €100 on the Section 4 charge.
